I have a feeling this wonderful recipe that i'm about to write about really belongs on a different blog, but since I only have "photography" related blogs for now, this seems to be the right place for it. I have many plums sitting around the house about to "expire" and I didn't want to throw any of them out, so I decided to try and make plum preserves. I cook all the time and have come up with a great recipe book on my own, so I thought I'd share how I made this:
You will need:
About 12 Medium-Large Plums, washed, roughly chopped
1/2 cup water
1 tbsp ginger
1 tsp cinnamon
1 cup sugar
1 tsp lemon juice
sprinkle of flour (if needed for consistency)
 |
| Choose very ripe plums! |
 |
| Roughly chop and place in a large simmering pan |
 |
| Add all ingredients and stir |
 |
| Simmer for an 1 or so until the consistency you desire is reached. (Add flour to thicken if necessary) |
 |
| Add to canning jars! |
 |
| Place cans in a water bath and boil until seal pops! |
Serve on a baguette, toast, PB &J or however you like your jam. It's delicious! Enjoy.
